Brace Yourself

Of the many strange and mysterious things which inhabit our contemporary world none are more bizarre or inexplicable than those which we create ourselves, enclosed here are my contributions to that unruly mass. Partially contained within systems, logical or otherwise, these objects are my reaction to the environment with which I interact and my attempt to rationalise that over-whelming influx of visual noise.

“Exploring the bizarreness of manmade objects, Mottishaw creates a unique and inexplicable environment. Tucked away around an easily missed corner, the space reeks with oversaturated colours, noisy-neons and incredible clutter.”

Rosie Priest, The Skinny, 21st June 2017

“Fionnuala Mottishaw’s creative energy is equally apparent in her weird and wonderful assemblages, their richly-coloured imagery composed from paint, wool, cloth, found objects, cut-out cardboard and much else.”

Duncan Macmillan, The Scotsman, 7th June 2017
